Oppo, I have a confession. I love large sedans, I’ll probably never end up in a sportscar because some luxo-barge in pearlescent white, which is my favorite car color by the way, will always catch my heart. The Shields (in Technicolor) look so good. I love it.
The Envision near it sucks big floppy donkey dingles though. Unfortunately you can discover the quality difference between the Envision and the Cascada and LaCrosse just walking by them! It is just a very...GM vehicle. I dream of the day where I get into a GM product and think, “Wow, this is way more than they needed to do!” Nope, it’s always, “Wow, this is precisely as far as it needed to go!” Though I will say that the Escalade, CTS, Camaro, Corvette (Stingray only), and oddly enough the Verano all felt like GM spent a little bit extra on the interiors.
In case you were wondering, yes I took the day off and yes I am very much a morning person! Mmm, the weather was great for that walk and there were so many dealerships on the way. But this is the last post until tonight probably, I need to get into my day.
Hnnnng, Technicolor

Just picked one up this past weekend in the same color but a Premium model. I’m curious what makes you say they didn’t take it far enough?

Well yeah, other than QuietTuning and the Buick badge, what can’t you get on a Cruze already for cheaper? Remove that it’s just an effin’ Cruze.

I love big sedans as well. This one looks good. Many much highway miles will be gobbled up by this.

I’m ok with it until the back end, why did they make it so boring and generic?

No, I have no issue with the new LaCrosse! That may be one of the best products GM has done this decade. No, it’s mostly the SUV and Trucks that aren’t ever “going that extra mile.” Say what you will about FCA and the Korean brands but you can tell they load their cars with everything they have to get you to buy them. Ford and Mazda go all out in the ride and handling of 100% of their vehicles. Toyota and Honda still have exceptional build quality and material choices (outside of the rental specs). GM always seems to ask, “How much do I need to do in order to pass the class?” rather than, “Is there extra credit?”
The new LaCrosse and Camaro are the first times in a long time where I’ve been in GM products where I could tell that they went over 100% of the vehicle and then said, “Let’s do a little bit more.” I need to look at a new Malibu and Cruze when I get the chance, I’m curious if this is the new trend for the products.
You made a great buy and congratulations!

I’m serious though, the Cruze is a very nice car but the Verano has an interior that completely overstepped it’s price point and expectations. It made me realize that you need to sit down inside of EVERY SINGLE car you come across because you never know! Really, the last gen CR-V and Optima Hybrid are more cars I would have never guessed were really nice to be inside of had I not decided to just open shit up!

Yes, definitely the Envision. That car does not help the argument of bring China-made vehicles to the US. Problem isn’t that the manufacturing is poor, it’s that you can tell the vehicle was built for a market that is 10 years behind the standards we expect in the US.

This is one of the times a chrome bar on back of the car would have helped. Mostly saying that because I adore the refreshed Regal’s back end.

Ahh makes sense sorry about that! I definitely agree that the Envision doesn’t go the extra mile especially considering it touches the high 40's to low 50's when fully optioned. I also agree that the LaCrosse and Camaro have an attention to detail that has been missing in their products for what seems like forever.
I think you’ll like the new Malibu, it’s very much improved over previous generations especially on the exterior.
Thank you very much! I have enjoyed every second with the LaCrosse so far.

I think my point is, the Cruze is a nice car in its own extent, that’s why the Verano has to overstep the price point as the selling point, otherwise nobody would be looking at it.

I’m actually excited to see what the new Regal (specifically the GS) will be like.
